The Heroes of September 11, 2001 : How We Can Honor Them

We will never forget that tragic day that terrorists stormed America.
We will never forget those brave firefighters, policemen, and rescue workers who gave their lives to save the lives of other innocent victims.
We look up in admiration and awe to these heroes who emulate Christ in giving up their lives to save the lives of others.

How can we thank them and honor them? We can thank God for them and we can pray for their families. We can also try to emulate them in the present day crisis in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. It is here that we see the faces of the poor and the suffering. It is in them that we see the face of Christ. Let us reach out to those who suffer from this terrible tragedy by continuing to pray for them and by offering them shelter, food, clothing, and medicine by sharing the gifts that the Lord has given us so abundantly with them. Let us also help to lift their spirits by sharing the Truth with them to give them hope.

"Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. "
~ Isaiah 40:1, 2

"My comfort in my affliction is that Your promise gives me life."
~ Psalm 119:50
